60II's are also usually cheaper to pick up in mint condition than the mkI's. Resale value? If it's in mint condition, then alot more than the 2k, xl, 1k and 500 are going for. Yes there's a step edit function and song mode. I believe it has track mute with 3.10e atleast, but not like the 2k or newer mpc's. Timing correction with 3.10e atleast is the same as the 3k(goes up to 1/32) if I'm not mistaken. Main benefits of 3.10e over the older os's is the 4 pad banks instead of two(a and b). The later os's might of had 4 pad banks, but I know the earlier one's didn't.

memory- 1.5mb MAXED OUT with one expansion board... :nemo:

no effects, but does have send and returns...

OS versions before 3.10e dont have Poly/Mono/Note Off functions, which is a pretty important feature for a lot of people... :spiderman:

i had a 60MkII with 3.01...

3.10 is a must with 60s and 3000s...

on the 60 if you dont have 3.10 you cant sample the whole 1.5mb in one take... you have to sample in 5 sec bits.

what year did the 60 come out and what year did the 60mkii come out?

was the mpc60 really the first thing roger linn did with akai?

roger linn says on his website that the linn 3.10 OS adds a lot of mpc3000 features. Obviously they didn't add all of them. what does the 3000 have that the 3.10 doest have besides the extra memory and that?

The 60 came out in '88, the 60 II came out in '91, with a headphone out and plastic faceplate
